Students, teachers and scientists work together to answer fundamental questions about the marine environment.

The challenge for participants is to collect, analyze, and make public, environmental data from the research site.

Research sites have included the Long Island Sound Estuary and Stellwagan Bank National Marine Sanctuary.

Teachers and scientists are grouped into collaborative research teams that collect and analyze microbial, chemical, acoustic, historic, and habitat data under the guidance of Principal Investigators (PI). The PIs direct the research, the teachers define and direct the development of resources for classroom application.
